KEC today boasts of the second largest production capacity in the world for tower manufacturing of about 311,000 MTs per annum (Own - 251,000 MT and Value added Partners – 60,000 MT). KEC has total five manufacturing facilities – three in India (151,000 MT) and two in Americas of SAE Towers (100,000 MT).
In India, KEC is spread over three state of the art manufacturing facilities in the strategically advantageous locations of Jaipur (Rajasthan), Butibori, Nagpur (Maharashtra) and Jabalpur (Madhya Pradesh). Total owned capacity in India is 151,000 MT. It also has close association with five Value Added Partner’s manufacturing facilities who provide exclusive capacity to KEC of more than 60,000 MTs per annum.
The company has complete in house resources for manufacture of transmission & distribution structures, telecom and railways infrastructure. All the manufacturing units are managed independently and are supported centrally by Procurement, Logistics, Quality Assurance, Planning and Commercial functions at Supply Chain. It is also associated with more than 400 vendors and over 25 logistics service providers. The company has 4PL Partnership with Kuehne + Nagel.
From Indian Facilities, the company supplied over 2.5 million metric tons of towers till date, for constructing over 85,000 kms of transmission lines globally.

SAE Towers (KEC’s wholly owned subsidiary) is the largest tower manufacturer of Americas with production capacity of 100,000 MTs. Its’ facilities are located in Monterrey (Mexico) and Belo Horizonte (Brazil).
Mexico plant is capable of producing 35,000 MTs of transmission towers. The plant is located within easy access of US markets, approximately 120 miles south of Laredo, Texas and has full access to global and US steel suppliers, allowing for ready availability of both structural angles and plate. The company also manufactures poles in this facility.
Brazil plant is capable of producing 65,000 MTs of lattice transmission towers. It was specifically designed employing a U-shaped production process flow in order to maximize efficiency and shorten total cycle time. The company also manufactures Hardware fittings and substation structures in this facility.
Both the plants utilizes Modern manufacturing processes and use CNC machines, further both the plants have in-house hot-dip galvanising facilities.

KEC has three cables manufacturing facilities at - Thane (Maharashtra), Silvassa (Dadra & Nagar Haveli) and Mysore (Karnataka) with various capacities to manufacture power, telecom, instrumentation and optical fibre cables. These are well equipped with manufacturing and testing facilities for the entire range of Power Cables and Telecom Cables as per IS / IEC / BS / TEC (Dept. of Telecommunication) / RDSO and various International Specifications. The company is a pioneer in manufacture of XLPE cables in India in the year 1978 and currently one of the only 3 companies in India to manufacture and supply 132 kV cables. The company is able to produce quality cables that meet the global standards and have been successfully tested in approved independent laboratories.
