The International division is the biggest Strategic Business Unit (SBU) in KEC’s business portfolio. This SBU executes power transmission projects on EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction) basis globally.

 

Global Presence

 

The International SBU has successfully executed turnkey transmission projects/ supply of transmission towers in over 40 countries across the globe. The division has an increasingly strong presence in the Middle East, Africa, and the Central Asian region. During the last six decades, the International SBU has helped transmit power in various countries including Afghanistan, Algeria, Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, Cameroon, Egypt, Ethiopia, Ghana, Indonesia, Iraq, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kenya, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Malaysia, Mali, Mozambique, Namibia, New Zealand, Nigeria, Oman, Peru, Philippines, South Africa, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Tajikistan, Thailand, Tunisia, USA, UAE, Vietnam and Zambia. The International SBU has more than 20 overseas offices spread across the continent.

The division has more than 60 years of experience in the turnkey construction of Transmission Lines. The SBU has executed transmission projects involving the design, testing and erection of some of the heaviest and tallest transmission towers in some of the most challenging climatic and topographic conditions like deserts, mountains, snow fields, war torn regions, thick forests, seas and rivers.

The SBU’s talent pool comprises of very experienced Project Managers/Engineers and skilled technicians who are well-versed both with the conventional as well as advanced methods of surveying/foundations/tower erections/stringing etc.

The SBU possesses sophisticated tension stringing machines, mobile & telescopic cranes, batching plants, concrete mixtures and other heavy duty construction equipments which give it a distinct edge to complete projects within a stringent time-frame. The SBU has developed in-house expertise to execute hot line stringing and OPGW jointing works.

The SBU has an unparalleled strength in the design of very complex and large towers with a state of the art in-house Design centre at Mumbai. It has designed Multi circuit, River crossing towers weighing more than 250 MT with the height of more than 150 meters per tower. The Design centre continuously develops innovative, construction friendly and cost- effective designs. The Design centre is equipped with the latest software including PLS Tower, PLS Pole, I-Tower, PLS CAD, BOCAD, AutoCAD etc. and is fully equipped to provide computerized engineering solutions, 3D analysis etc.
