KEC is one of the leading manufacturers of power and telecom cables in India.
It has two state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities located in Vadodara (Gujarat) and Mysore (Karnataka). The manufacturing facilities are accredited with ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 certifications.
The Company has a capacity to manufacture around 40,000 kilometres per annum of power cables, 3600 kilometres per annum of instrumentation cables, 6 lakh core kilometres per annum of jelly filled (copper) telecom cables, 6 lakh fibre kilometres of optical fibre cables, 4000 MTs of Railway Contact Wire and 2000 MTs of Railway Catenary Wire.
KEC entered the cables business by acquiring RPG Cables in 2010. RPG Cables with a rich experience of 6 decades, is one of the oldest and largest, fully integrated cable manufacturers in India. It pioneered the production of XLPE cables in India. It has a diverse clientele across industries including power, oil & gas, steel, engineering, electricity supply, etc. The company is also amongst the leading Indian exporters of cables. The company is well equipped with testing facilities as per various national and international specifications.
With its persistent focus on growth, the Company has set up a world-class facility at Vadodara in Gujarat, India to manufacture HT and EHV cables up to 220 kV. The plant is equipped with state-of-the-art manufacturing and testing facilities sourced from international domain experts to maintain highest standards of quality and safety. The plant is capable of manufacturing corrugated Aluminium sheath and Milliken conductor with conductor cross-sections up to 2000 sq mm with a triple-extrusion insulation line. With an installed capacity of 3,600 cable kilometres annually, the plant has been designed for capacity expansion.
The Vadodara facility has been awarded 'Platinum' rated Green Facility certification from the Indian Green Building Council for its sustainability initiatives in and around the facility. It is India's first Cable manufacturing plant to receive this honour.
RPG Cables has an extensive sales network across the country with sales offices and authorised dealers to serve its customers’ needs. Its dedicated team of exports has supplied power and telecom cables to over 75 countries. RPG Cables’ brand is approved with all major utilities, EPC companies and electrical consultants in India.
The Company has a capacity to manufacture over 36,000 kilometres (km) of power cables, 0.6 million core kilometres (ckm) of jelly filled telecom cables and 0.365 mn fibre kilometres (fkm) of optical fibre cables.
