Mumbai, October 23, 2008 : KEC International Ltd. (KEC) today reported second quarter ended September 30, 2008 revenue of Rs. 806.45 crore versus last year’s figure for the corresponding period of Rs 562.96 crore. Net profit for the second quarter stands at Rs. 17.80 crore as against Rs. 33.89 crore during the corresponding period last year.
The revenue for half year ended September 30, 2008 stood at 1406.50 crore as against Rs. 1074.54 crore for the corresponding period last year. Net profit for the first half stands at Rs. 43.30 crore as against Rs. 59.20 crore during the corresponding period last year.
The company’s well-diversified order book stands at a healthy Rs. 4700 crore as on September 30, 2008.
The percentage growth figures are not given because they are not comparable to second quarter of last year due to the merger of RPG Transmission Ltd. (RPGT) and National Information Technologies Limited (NITEL) into KEC with effect from October 1, 2007. Thus, the current figures relate to the post merger KEC.
