Mumbai, July 30, 2010:KEC International Ltd. (KEC), a global leader in the power transmission EPC business and an RPG group company, today announced its unaudited consolidated results for the first quarter ending June 30, 2010.
The company's net revenue stood at Rs 846 crore as against Rs 727 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous year, registering a growth of 16.4%.
The Profit after Tax (PAT) for the quarter was Rs 26 crore at 3.1% of revenues as against Rs 38 crore at 5.3% of revenues in the corresponding quarter last year.
In the Railway segment, the company secured its first ever composite order from RVNL (Rs 57 Crore). The scope of the work includes civil construction, signaling, track laying and electrification on turnkey basis. With this order, the company builds a pre-qualification base for all the railway construction related activities.
In addition to this, it has secured an international order from Malaysia (Rs 30 crore) for electrification work. This is the first international order for the Railways segment. Further, the company has also secured small orders for electrification work in the domestic market. The order book for the Railways segment, including all new orders stands at Rs 247 Cr.
The company’s current order book is robust at Rs 5,650 crore
