Mumbai, April 23, 2009: KEC International Ltd. (KEC), a global leader in the power transmission EPC business and an RPG group company, has bagged two orders totaling to Rs. 95 crore in Mozambique and Namibia.
The Mozambique order is an order for Turnkey construction of a 110 kV transmission line and a substation in the Cabo Dalgado Province. The total length of line is 100 kms. and the project is scheduled to be completed in 18 months. The project has been secured through our Saudi joint venture Al Sharif KEC from the client-Electricidade De Mozambique.
The Namibia order is for Supply & installation of OPGW cable and matched hardware accessories for 220 kV D/C Van Eck - Osona - Omburualong & Khan-Rossing. The total length of lines is 207 kms. and the project is scheduled to be completed in 6 months. This is the second order secured by KEC from the client - Nampower.
