Mumbai, June 17 : KEC International Ltd. (KEC), a global leader in the power transmission EPC sector and part of the US$ 3 Billion RPG Group, today announced that it has bagged an order for Rs. 160 crore from National Thermal Power Corporation’s Electric Supply Company Ltd. (NESCL).

The work awarded involves Rural Electrification on turnkey basis in Dumka district of Jharkhand state. This is the largest single value order awarded under the Rajiv Gandhi Gramin Vidyutikaran Yojana (RGGVY) scheme till date.
In terms of scale, KEC’s scope of work covers electrification of 1454 villages, providing approximately two lakh BPL service connections and fourteen 33/11 kV new/augmentation substations.
Scheduled to be completed by December 2009, this is the second order received in the state of Jharkhand by KEC from NESCL.
