KEC International wins orders of Rs. 1209 crore
Mumbai, June 12, 2014: KEC International Ltd. (KEC), a global infrastructure EPC major, an RPG Group company has secured new orders of Rs. 1,209 crore in its Transmission & Distribution and Cables businesses. Details are as follows -
Transmission and Distribution Businesses:
In this business, the Company has secured orders in Saudi Arabia, Uganda, India and the Americas amounting to Rs. 1,126 crore.
- Saudi Arabia: Secured an order for supply and construction of 230kV and 380 kV transmission lines in Jubail and Shedgum areas in Saudi Arabia. The order is secured from Saudi Electricity Company and the order value is Rs. 736 crore (KEC share). This is the largest order secured in this region. With this order, we have consolidated our presence in Saudi Arabia; earlier in January 2014 we had secured an order for Rs. 708 crore in this region.
- Uganda: Secured an order for supply and installation of 220 kV transmission line between Kawanda – Masaka in Uganda. The order is secured from Uganda Electricity Transmission Co. Limited and the order value is Rs. 124 crore.
- India: Secured an order from Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL) for the Tangla – Barabisa section of 800 kV HVDC Bishwanath Chariyali-Agra transmission line associated with North East – Northern/Western Interconnector-I. The order value is Rs. 60 crore
- Americas: SAE Towers, the wholly owned subsidiary of the Company has secured orders for the supply of lattice towers, monopoles and hardware from the United States, Brazil and Mexico. The total value of orders is Rs. 206 crore.
Cables Business:
In this business, the Company has secured orders for the supply of Power and Telecom Cables. The total value of these orders is Rs. 83 crore.
