KEC International wins orders worth Rs. 756 crore
Mumbai, December 13, 2013: KEC International Ltd. (KEC), a global infrastructure EPC major, an RPG Group company has secured new orders of Rs. 756 crore in its Transmission, Water, Power Systems and Cables businesses. Details are as follows -
Transmission Business:
In this business, the Company has secured orders in the Americas, Saudi Arabia and Abu Dhabi amounting to Rs. 324 crore.
- Americas: The Company has forayed into the EPC space in the Americas by securing its first transmission line order in Brazil. The scope includes design, supply and erection of 230 kV transmission line on turnkey basis. This order is secured by the SAE Towers. The order value is Rs. 44 crore ($7.3 million).
With this order, SAE Towers has expanded its portfolio from tower supply to complete EPC space. KEC will look forward to leverage its global EPC expertise along with its strong local foothold through SAE Towers in this market.
In addition to the above, SAE Towers has also secured orders for supply of lattice towers, monopoles and hardwares from the United States, Brazil, Canada, Mexico and Honduras. The total value of these orders is Rs. 61 crore.
- Saudi Arabia:: Two orders for supply and erection of 110 kV double circuit transmission line in Saudi Arabia. The orders are secured from the National Grid SA. The total value of these orders is Rs. 209 (KEC Share).
- Abu Dhabi: Secured an additional order in its existing project in the country. The order value is Rs. 10 crore.
Water Business:
In this business, the Company has secured three orders in India amounting to ` 245 crore.
- The first order is for two Sewage Treatment Plants of 15 MLD and 20 MLD capacities on turnkey basis. The scope includes design, supply, installation and operation and maintenance for 7 years. The order is secured from the Bangalore Water Supply Sewerage Board. The order value is ` 136 crore.
- The second order is also for Sewage Treatment Plant of 33 MLD capacity on turnkey basis. The scope includes design, supply, installation and operation and maintenance for 5 years. The order is secured from the Government of Uttarakhand. The order value is ` 69 crore.
- The third order is for Canal renovation, reconstruction and modernisation. The order is secured from the Water Resources Department of Madhya Pradesh. The order value is ` 40 crore.
Power Systems Business:
In this business, the Company has secured an order for establishment of 220/400 kV Gas Insulated Substations (GIS) at Kishanganj in Bihar. The order is secured from the Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (PGCIL). The order value is Rs. 102 crore (KEC Share).
Cables Business:
In this business, the Company has secured orders for the supply of Power and Telecom Cables. The total value of these orders is Rs. 85 crore.
